Bush-Cheney have made Big oil's wants their #1 priority. This is not 40 years of policy, this is a new thing, an era where big oil and other big contributors get as much as they want and as much as Bush-cheney have the power to give them. Bush-Cheney do not investigate gouging, have helped cover up the phony energy crisis and seem to be quite happy with the sky-high energy prices.

I'll always remember an article i read about a reporter overhearing an Alaska Bushie senator (the one in the oil cimpanies' pockets, uness they both are) saying about energy prices DURING the energy crisis "they're not high enough yet".

Why would the Bushies want energy prices so high? Because for one thing it enriches them and their friends, for another thing it gives them more incentive and reasoning to go into sensitive wilderness areas to drill. basically it is Texas and the oil-patch vs. the rest of us. What's good for them is bad for us and vice versa.
