Taxes And Feelings: Taxes: 1. I'm not an accountant. I majored in accounting because I thought it was the most practical thing to do. Just getting a job is way overrated. 2. Taxes: IRS? Can't escape it. Best you can do is defer. Deferral is good because of time value of money- (e.g. inflation). Gains are taxed as income. If you have not witheld enough from your paycheck and your gains from stocks exceed a certain amount, you must make quarterly payments. My advice is to hire a real CPA who also understands estate planning. If he can explain the rule of perpetuity, hire him on the spot. Feelings: I feel too professional. Must regress to basic Jeng state. Need a Slurpee.
