Dear Iqbal,
Re: Raymond you are so provincial,
Alas, my goal is to be even more provincial. :)
I see great threats to the future of the planet from the scheme for world dominance that is being perpetrated by the corporate elites. I think it will end badly.
I read an interesting statistic yesterday. It turns out that the average distance traveled by the components of an American meal is over 2,000 Km! To me this is remarkable. Last night we enjoyed grapes flown in from Chile, a distance of about 10,000 Km. The lettuce was from the Imperial Valley in California, about 1,500 Km. The tomatoes from Florida, 6,000 Km.
All in all, I don't feel particularly provincial. After all, they say you are what you eat. So I'm quite the world traveler.
And did I mention the garlic that traveled 9,000 Km from China? |
