It's not my imagination. Though I have no solid proof because of the massive cover ups except Enron's fraud schemes, anyone who can add two and two can see what happened. Plus, I heard in 2000 from my parents in Houston that their friends were gossiping about the oil business sticking it to California (my parents know a lot of top executives in that field socially) plus my talks with Lyn Nozzinger and a Califnornia State Senator confirm this. The fix was in, and it coincided closely with the campaign. Enron was Bush's #1 source of $$$ and help, and vice versa when Bush-Cheney helped cover up the whole thing and try to blame it on the victim, Grey Davis. The frist step to getting Davis out was to manufacture the energy crisis then hire Ed Gillespie and spend many millions to deceive the public into thinking it was the governor's fault, not the crooks who perpetrated it. 9-11 actually saved Bush-Cheney from this being the #1 issue of their first two years. After 9-11 no one wanted to accuse the White House of anything wrong. The scandal started percokating up again the following summer but then Bush started the Iraq War talk, not only stealing the elections but driving Enron and energy scandals off the front pages. Very sneaky and clever. This year however the Bushies have no such ploy unless they want to try and start a new war. But they do have Enron Ed Gillespie spending millions for them to deceive the public, over a hundred million in fact.
