One has to think that the purpose to attack Afghanistan was accomplished. Maybe the Bush administration didn't want to capture Bun Ladin for many reasons.

There were rumors of a hostile meeting with the Taliban in Berlin well before 9/11. A pipeline was supposed to be placed in Afghanistan that would funnel oil to the Pakistan coast. The Taliban refused ,supposedly ,and the U.S. stornmed out of the meeting.

After the land was under control, perhaps the Bush admin decided to stop..........mission accomplished. And besides, we all know that the fish Bush really wanted was Saddam . He did have the approval from COngress to act in any way he deemed necessary to thwart terrorism so all Bush had to do was link Saddam to terrorism and he could attack.

I really don't think that we can stop all of AL Quada at any one time.By now we have probably helped them increase their numbers. Taking out Bin Ladin will make him into a powerful martyr. Capturing him might also be a nightmare.
Any scenario won't be easy. Obviously, we haven't stopped their capability to strike so we have missed the boat completely. All we have accomplished is to ruin the lives of thousands of people...............most of them Moslem and innocent.
