I don't watch a lot of tube but it sometimes helps get me back to sleep in the middle of the night, especially in hotel rooms -- last night around 4AM I was channel surfing and about 50% of the 60-odd channels were get-rich-quick schemes of one form or another -- some were currency come-ons and some were about options but mostly it's real estate. All were harping on leverage as if they'd invented the concept, and how you don't need any money to play.

My favorite RE "student" was the lunchpail who supposedly owns $3.5MM in property and whose income consists entirely of continuous re-fis to "extract the equity" from the neverending fountain of clownbucks down at the local bank. What could be simpler, he asks, as the biggest mystery on TV at 4AM is why isn't everyone doing this.

When the inevitable happens and the feces engages the propellor, this time it really will be different, because this time nobody has any equity left in anything
