It would seem that drilling would bring possible horrid outcomes to a formerly pristine area. I can understand why there should be no drilling.

The debate was formed by contentions that Kerry would wean us from Arab oil and Big Oil. So far, I haven't seen anything that remotely suggests that Kerry has a plan in this area and this is nothing more than attack everything and just be anti-Bush.

Assuming we can't drill here for conservation purposes, what is the Kerry plan? Is it the same old, i.e., wait for alternative fuel vehicles. I'm not saying how old I am, but back when I got my driver's license, these vehicles were supposedly "coming." We need leadership that will be specific and lay out policies that don't worry about stepping on toes. So far, Kerry hasn't done it.

All I see is attacks by Bush haters that Bush pandered to big oil and Arab oil. Yes, very true, but that's been our policy for 40 years and more, and under Democrats and Republicans. Will Kerry just bash or will he do something? That's the question.
