8 killed in apparent suicide bombing in Ashdod port By Nir Hasson, Haaretz Correspondent and Haaretz Service Eight people were killed in two explosions Sunday afternoon at the Ashdod port, Israel Radio reported. The blasts was apparently caused by two suicide bombers. Eight people were seriously wounded in the blasts. Eight teams of firefighters reached the scene, as did a number of police officers and Magen David Adom rescue workers. It was initially believed that the blasts were the result of a work accident involving a gas cannister at the port.
