An occasional cut or restructuring of forces is a good thing even admirable (as I said). However, this is simply not the case in the Kerry record, which is a long history of cutting defense and intelligence.
I thank you for posting that article, since it shows restructuring and reshaping, not cutting. It demonstrates that Rumsfeld had a vision of the future needs and that vision although not perfect, is pretty accurate. Certainly far better that the cut cut cut from Mr. Kerry. It makes me wonder if you really read it, since it shows that Rumsfeld is restructuring not cutting. If you recall, Kerry is on record as stating that he would divert the money to social spending. This is not restructuring.
I will note that the defense budget requests from the administration HAVE BEEN INCREASES. So your premise is false. Again, you illustrate a stunning level of ignorance.
John F. Kerry campaigned for congress on on cutting military expenditures:
Running For Congress In 1972, Kerry Promised To Cut Defense Spending. “On what he’ll do if he’s elected to Congress, Kerry said he would bring a different kind of message to the president.’ He said he would vote against military appropriations.” (Candidate’s For Congress Capture Campus In Andover, Lawrence (MA) Eagle-Tribune, 4/21/72)
You see, he started his congressional career with the intent to cut the military. I'll give him this much, he sure tried and has at least been consistent in that regard. |
