Gen. 2: 23-24 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man." For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
Matt. 19:4-5 "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female, and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'?
Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
If you will look, what you see is men practicing polygamy, not God blessing it. Much misery was brought about by their actions.
We are not under law but under grace. As near as I can tell, no Christian is using a high priest to approach God once a year with the blood of bulls and goats to atone for the sins of the year. Jesus came as the perfect sacrifice. In same manner, do you see any indication of polygamy in the New Testament? Do you get any indication that adultry or fornication, or sexual perversion to be acceptable? |
