Order "Everything We Had" 32 personal stories from Vietnam by the soldiers who lived it. It's one of the best books you'll ever read about the subject. The stories range across the board. The Green Ghosts story is written by a SEAL working for the CIA's Phoenix Program as an assassin. Their methods were exactly what Kerry described in front of congress and which the Pentagon was concealing (for obvious reasons). Methods included taking heads because Buddhists believ the person can't be reincarnated if the head is removed. Also disembowling, necklaces of ears, etc. These SEALS were our best killers but they got out of control. Now in Afghanistan we are using our Dick Marcinko type Hunter-Killer teams to hunt Bin Lauden, but the Bush administration keeps announcing the team's going after OBL, giving the "tangos" warning. I'll bet the Spec Ops guys are pissed about that. They hate politicians sometimes as much as their enemy targets.
