Lorne, there are folks and you being one of them, who are very adept at raising the fear factor. It is good to be frightful, but we need to go beyond just fear. Nobody including Kerry has said that we should negotiate with the Islamists. We all want to fight them.

But where we differ on is how repeat how we should fight them Bush did not fight the Islamists. The Islamists did not care much about Saddam. They considered Saddam as a happy go lucky womanizing, drinking and self centered person who lived in palaces instead of in caves as Osama and his men did.

So again, Bush has been a terrible failure in the war on terrroism. US cannot fight it alone or with the help of a few countries. It would require world leadership qualities in the US President to be able to bring together a broad coalition. And Bush does not have that charisma or the respect from other world leaders to play that role. Kerry sure does. He fought the Vietnam war as a law abiding citizen should and then had the balls to speak out against it when he had the right to do so, no matter how hard the Bushies try to malign him.
