Re the economy: Business Week this week has several articles and a cover story on "Where are the Jobs?" as I mentioned earlier this weekend.

Probably looking at the magazine will be of benefit to you.

Productivity seems to be the biggest culprit. Plus the cost of benefits that employers pay...
i.e. California now is trying to decide if they will pay for 14 ~!!!! paid Holidays, or "Just" 12 ` !!!

Most employers I dealt with over the years had between 6-8 paid employee Holidays.

PLUS: Vacation....2 weeks, then 3 weeks, then 4..... ALL PAID by the EMPLOYER.

Right there, there is a Month of days paid for that no business was accomplished for the employer.

THEN: we get into Health care benefits (Business Week said that employers pay an "average" of $6,500 for premiums for the worker and family....and then dental ins, life ins, etc etc etc....

And THEN: Taxes per employee, including the 7.65 for EACH employees Social Security and Medicare premium....

Is it really wonder that employers are still not hiring unless they absolutely have to do so?
