I will take you up on the drink part and actually do not disagree with you. Necon is a label that paints with too wide a brush. Necons can be smart folks. I think that you are talking about the president's men(some of who are necons) who possibly like the former PM of spain may have spun too much. Ken Pollock was on cnbc earlier and he said that he now believes that saddam kept getting caught with his wmds pulled down so he destroyed most of them and just held on to his capablity to reestablish them but he continued his bellicosity on the world stage so he could remain big man in the arab world. Thusly we got sucked in and he wound up in a hole.
