It would be crooked of Kerry to make something like this up. Yes, it would. Some people might think he did. He should clear his name. But if it's true... How is he going to do that? Announce that he and Blair or Aznar or whoever have been chatting and Blair has been wishing him success against Bush in the election. If it's true, he can't tell. It would be a monster breach of confidence, much worse than getting zapped for making up some contacts. Would you spill the beans in that situation? I sure wouldn't.
