The Bush league can't hide now.
Oh, they could have hidden behind success, and parades, and new grand games, ... if only their gamble had worked. Instead of making the smart move, grabbing the terrorists and giving away enough money to earn the gratitude of their supporters, the neocons wanted it all. They blew right past Afganistan to seize the heartland of the oil patch. They didn't just take some of the treasury, they took it all. In the mean time the public, or at least the part of the public paying attention, are thinking 'Wait a miniute, didn't you promise this would work?'
Yes, the Bush league would like a mulligan here and just pretend that there was no conspiracy, no grand larceny, and no failure.
