Its too bad the Spanish PM moved so quickly to pull their troops out of Iraq. Its got people too wound up.

It made a point.
It would have been ineffective for all purposes if it had been some quiet fading away. There is an attitude among the occupation force of Iraq that if they can just hold out a bit more things will get better. That attitude is not shared by the insurgents or the terrorists or wannabes.
