Just as when she said it, it was a slap in the face to the relatives of the victims of lynch mobs. And it remains an atrocious lie in any land where minorities face the death penalty far out of proportion to their criminal involvement.

If it's not envy of the rich for being rich, it's the desire to change the subject by smearing those on the right with a charge of "racism." That is always charge number two.

When AR said it in 1969, lynching was mainly a thing of the past. But it never goes away with the "Free the Scottsboro boys" crowd.

BTW, Blacks are about 13% of our population. '97 FBI data shows that 30 percent of those arrested for "serious" crimes were black, as were 41 percent of those arrested for violent crimes and 56 percent of those arrested for murder. The people they attack are black. You probably consider that fact a "racist" statement. Or that they are being "persecuted" for being black.

As Armstrong Williams said, "If I was the Grand Kleagle of the KKK, I could not have done as much damage to Black society as the Liberals have done."
