Not a single current rightwing leader has ever served in combat. It's pretty ironic huh? Jk also has several military hero types he could pick as his running mate, if he doesn't pick Edwards. The Silver Star means a lot. So does the Bronze Star when it was won by braving enemy fire to pull a Republican Green Beret out of the river and saving his life. Meanwhile Bush went AWOL and avoided the war, dodging questions about it and pretending he doesn't remember where he was.
