The more i think about, the more it seems to me that its the local conditions in european countries that have supplied the terrorists for bin laden. Europe is not accepting enough of its immigrants and unable or unwilling to integrate them into society. Please note that the spanish terrorist did not commit suicide. They may not have been basques but it strikes me now that they were local moroccans living in spain who may not have been happy about the way they have been treated. Arent there angry turks in germany? or unhappy muslims forced to have their girls remove their scarves by a repressive french regime. I am overstating this to make a point. Maybe the violence is more like what happened in the US in the sixties when Malcolm said the chickens were coming home to roost. Iraq is the bs excuse used by bin laden to separate western states. Betcha a Becks that the spanish terrorists were using terrorism against what they see as economic oppression.
I know deep down that you are a good man JJ. We have chatted privately and your heart is in the right place. But you cross a line when you compare terror deaths quantitatively with smoking obesity or the true US plague auto accidents. We need to work together on solving these problems. And what we got to work with is Bush and Chirac, and schroeder or a replacement. Time to crush international terrorism and deal with the problems of causation--not not israel, or americans in iraq, but what happens in each of our homelands that causes these decentralized malcontents to arise and be used by al quaeda.
