Fake and inferior products worth 350m yuan destroyed www.chinaview.cn 2004-03-16 16:22:02 BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhuanet) -- China destroyed 347 million yuan (42 million US dollars) worth of fake and inferior goods on the morning of Monday's International Consumer Protection Day. The move, organized by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC), took place across the country and destroyed over 200 kinds of commercial products recently confiscated by local governments, Tuesday's China Youth Daily reported. Products destroyed include food items, medicines, cosmetics, farm materials and household appliances, SAIC said. Local officials have buried, crushed and burned all the fake and inferior products in designated areas and conducted the whole process in line with the environmental protection regulations, said SAIC.
