As far as household employment I suspect that is just measuring the people who choose to try to make a go of day trading vs. persuing their only other opportunity of a low paid retail job. You should read up on the household survey v. the establishment survey before you dismiss the former with such a carelessly glib response. You're too close to a certain industry and it's coloring your viewpoint.
