How can you be so sure that "al Qaeda" was responsible for the attacks in Madrid? I'm certainly not convinced. Nor have the Spanish authorities come up with anyone other than "the usual suspects" but no proof.

Here's an alternative speculation as to who the perpetrators might have been:

While I don't endorse Mr. Vialls views, I certainly can see that his review of the facts is one of the most complete and thorough of any I've seen.

I wouldn't be to quick to say of the Spanish that "those voters did injustice to their dead by caving to terror".

That certainly wasn't the mood among the protestors in the streets on Saturday and Sunday who were angry and inflamed because their government and the Partida Populare were flat out lying to the public.
