Re: Look to the recreational area and you'll understand why it is unstoppable.

You are far too fatalistic about this over-breeding problem. There are solutions. But we have absolute idiots in the White House who are completely despicable in their attitudes toward excessive breeding.

There isn't any particular reason we couldn't control ourselves should we chose to do so. Contraception isn't novel or difficult. It's just not politically in favor with the nutcases running this country today.

While human contraception is controversial, here in my home town, we've taken a decisive step in the avian realm. There are hundreds of Canadian geese which are year round residents on our local river, and they are nothing but shit machines with wings. The river has been quite polluted with their droppings and this spring, for the first time, the city is taking action. They are spreading food pellets for the geese that has been laced with a sterilant. This will hopefully keep the population under control. Heaven forbid we would actually harvest any of these surplus geese and feed them to the homeless in town. That would be entirely too practical a solution.
