Not over till ...

... the pleasingly plump lady sings.

It is unfortunate that we do not have one of the greatest and plumpest here to sing for us today, but Kate Smith has long since passed on.

I do believe, however that Kate is up there watching over us and I am guessing that right now Aretha Franklin is composing a song to celebrate our (hopefully) good fortune.

Some detail are still unfolding but your local bugle commented earlier:

FOX Sports comments:

foxsports.com

"The 49ers and the Ravens are the biggest losers Tuesday."

Time will tell on that.

In all fairness Brandon Whiting is a contributor and a rock solid team player. He is in real life, better than the book on him. If someone goes down, he'll help the Niners. Give him some respect when he returns home and joins your club.

Free agency really has changed the face of the Iggles.

Recently we have lost Jeremiah Trotter and Hugh Douglas and this year we have lost five-time Pro Bowl cornerback Troy Vincent to Buffalo, DUUUUUCE Staley to Pittsburgh, premier linebacker Carlos Emmons to the Giants, and former Pro Bowl cornerback Bobby Taylor will probably head elsewhere shortly.

Offsetting this, we have signed three-time Pro Bowler (but injury prone) defensive end Jevon Kearse.

Good article here out of South Carolina, a state I associate more with golf and drunk drivers, and dead deer killed by drunk drivers and drunk golfers driving, than football above the high school level:

The knowledgeable nutball football fans in Philadelphia, and us nutballs in the Phillie burbs are rather ecstatic over this deal even though we don't really know what to expect next season.

Heck, we've never had a 'bad boy.' We passed on Warren Sapp cause he was a 'bad boy.' We passed on randy Moss cause he was a 'bad boy.' WE are ready for a 'bad boy.'

This T.O. quote stands out for us Iggles fans:

"Me and Donovan McNabb will go together like peanut butter and jelly."

T.O. has made it clear he wants to play here. Donovan has made it clear that he wants T.O to play here.

Make no mistake about it, Donovan McNabb engineered and cleared the way for this acquisition, but it would not have gone down if Andy Reid hadn't figured it would work. On field Donovan is the Iggles leader. Off field Mike Holgrem alum Andy Reid calls the shots, and owner Jeff Laurie lets him do that.

In all the years Donovan has played here the only quality receiver he has ever had catching was a rather aging Irwin Fryar, a bad boy in his own time - and we loved him and wished he had stayed.

Time was up for T.O. in 3COM Stadium. We welcome him to the Linc.

Win, lose, or draw. McNabb, Owens, Mitchell, and Westbrook, will provide offensive fun and excitement next year for curmudgeonly sports fans everywhere, regardless of their home field persuasion.

As Kate Smith would sayin her curmudgeoness fasshion: God bless you Rush. Drop dead.

Go Iggles!
