We must live on different planets. The reports I read show that grains are in the shortest supply that they've been in over three decades. Prices have been spiking not only in grains but also in oils, such as canola, corn, palm, etc.

If we truly had surpluses, prices would be falling. Instead, they are inflating rapidly.

Additionally, 17% or so of the human population is mal-nourished today. While this is down dramatically since 1970 when about 30% of the human population was mal-nourished, it is still about the same number of human beings, approximately one billion humans. They don't have any surplus or sense of plenty. Not at all.
