"I disagree ... This was an attempt to sabotage the peace talks." More of an election ploy than anything else and the PA leadership were happy to assist Sharon to that end. I'm not going to list hear all the many acts of good faith Israel showed in pursuing the goals of Oslo, suffice it to say, however, the PA promised to forego violence.
