Don't give up so fast Red. Chris Matthews says that historically when incumbants are running they either win big or lose big and that ultimately the election is a referendum on the incombant, not the challenger. So issues like the war and the economy, come september and october, will probably decide this. Bush has a window here to undo some of the damage that the Dem 9 did to him by savaging him during the primaries. But in the end bush needs jobs and a more hopeful iraq to pull this out. I do think kerry needs to choose a steady hand as VP. Thats why the McCain idea struck me as a winner. If not McCain who? Mike
