are you sure about that? do you remember the employee of a financial printing firm who was involved in printing docs relative to a merger of two companies unrelated to him in any way. he traded on that info and was convicted.

some years ago a sec lawyer - he's still around but in private practice now, if i could remember his name you'd recognize it - said that if you get off a plane and notice that a bomb has just destroyed the sole manufacturing facility of a publicly traded company, run to the phone in the terminal and place a sell order -- that, in his view, would be insider trading. i agree it's crazy, but that's what he said.

darn it, the dow's now down and the naz is looking sick.
