Obviously Bush benefitted from 9-11. It gave him license to get away with so many things most presidents would get booed off the stage or even impeached for. He has defined himself as a "war president" and includes everything controversial he does as necessary fore the "war" effort. When you look deeper though you realize what a phony he is.
