Good to see that Polvie is "back". Well, the temp made it back to 95º, so the better half, the parrot and I went for a swim in the river. The first thing you've got to realize is that a CA river is like an eastern creek. The second is that the parrot doesn't really swim. We've got this homemade wooden crosspiece perch. It's kinda like a very cheap Christmas tree base. The crosspiece perch sits atop a small child's circular tube float. Works well, and the parrot loves it. The air was hot, but the water temp said, "Hey Bozo. You're on the wrong side of the Vernal Equinox". This is a stream that's comfortable for trout in August. So, it was ... bracing. Odd to stand in water, with your upper body sweltering, and the immersed portion slowly going numb. Predicted weather is we are headed back to normal. Hope the warmth is headed your way. Don't tell Altie, but we had another unnoticed earthquake today ( reuters.com ). later lurqer
