The "lackeys of America" threatened
A communique attributed to Al- Qaida threatened "the lackeys of America" with attacks similar to those of Madrid.
Japan, Italy, Great Britain, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and Pakistan are cited, according to the quotidian Al- Qods al- Arabi, Thursday. Japan and Australia already made it clear that they would not make concessions to the threats. The authenticity of the communique received by the Arabic paper based in London cannot be verified.
The text, dated March 15th and signed by the Abou Hafs al- Masri Brigades/Al Qaida, also called upon the "brigades" in Europe to suspend "operations against civilians in Spain, while waiting to discover the orientations of the new government which has promised to draw down it troops in Iraq and which gives assurances of it non- interference in the affairs of Muslims."
"We left the Spanish people to choose between war and peace. It chose peace in electing the party which opposed alliance with America in its war against Islam", added the text, alluding to the defeat of the party of Jose Maria Aznar in legislative elections Sunday, three days after the attacks on trains in Madrid, in which 201 persons perished.
"To the lackeys of America we say: look there at one American lackey who destroyed his political future by allying with the tyrant of the century (which is to say, President George W. Bush). There is Aznar, who will be thrown into the dustbin of history", affirmed the text.
"Draw the lesson of the lackeys of America, the brigades of death are at your doors. We are going to strike you with an iron fist, in a place and at a moment of our choosing", pursued the text, mentioning "the lackey Arabs and Muslims, such as Musharraf of Pakistan and the Saudi royal family".
"Our brigades prepare themselves now for a new strike. Will it be the turn of Japan, America, Italy, Great Britain, Saudi Arabia, Australia?...." threatened the text.
