There's an article on the Olympus 230Mb MO drive on page 32 of this week's InfoWorld. It lists the price as $299 external with disks at $10 each in qty 5. Transfer rate 2.4Mbps. Seek time 17 seconds.

That's pretty slow.

Unless, of coarse, they meant MILIseconds.
