IOC to get security solution from THL

Indian Oil Corporation decided to take the integrated security solution provided by the Pune-based Tata Honeywell Ltd (THL), for a robust and future-wise security system. THL is a provider of automation and software solutions.
The security system would cover almost 500 installations including refineries, terminals, pipelines and offices across India against intrusion, theft, sabotage and terror attacks. The security system would be based on access control, which include technologies such as smart card and biometrics, which use information and body features to identify the people authorised to enter the installations.
The security system would deploy Smart Cards for employees and visitors, Smart Card Reader for gates and vehicles, Fingerprint-cum-Smart Card Reader, Access Controllers, Vehicle Barriers, Card Drop and Retrieval System, Access Control Server/ client software, access Control PC's server and client, web cams, printers and system architecture from THL. The total size of the order is worth Rs 26 crore. Within three years, THL Security Solutions Business Unit has installed digital video system with video transmission and control over WAN (wide area network) and microwave communications systems.
