Cheney supported the "peace dividend" cuts while head of thre DOD and openly boasted about them. Those type of cuts were also championed by Bush Sr. and top GOp Congressmen, specifically conservative Shelby of Alabama and Arlen Specter. Probably a lot more. JK may have made some dovish votes 10-20 years ago but for the most part he's been strong and has 100% supported our fighting men and women, and especially veterans. He is a combat hero and doesn't need draft-dodgers like Cheney telling him how to keep this country safe.
