We have to get over the idea that if you were against the war in iraq, you are against the terror war.

I can accept this. What I find unacceptable is the new Spanish PM calling the war in Iraq a "fiasco". This is the comment of someone who thinks all war unnecesary, and doesn't really care that the Iraqis don't agree with him.

And they have to get over the idea that iraq was for oil or for american imperialism and that wmds were somehow made up when every nation expected them to be found.

Not gonna happen.

They need to lose the hate for bush

NEVER gonna happen. They will blame the next Al Queda attack on Bush, and if the attacks die down or disappear they will congratulate themselves on how their "nuanced, multilateral" conferences and law enforcement did the trick, and give no credit to US forces cleaning out the snake pits.

and we need to treat their leaders with some respect.

Who's we? The Bush administration has treated the new Spanish PM with a greater civility and respect than he has treated them. BTW, I will never understand why a foreign leader thinks that endorsing an opposition Presidential candidate will help that candidate. Nobody likes outsiders interfering in a election.

edit: US, Israel and perhaps the brits against the terrorists with no other people involved.

And the Aussies. Plus, there are many countries cooperating with intel. I share Nadine's concern that Spain's intel cooperation may be limited now for fear of Al-Queda. Sort of like fear of the Mafia.
