That is why jobs are leaving the country. Those who create jobs, even if they do not express it in so many words, know of a certainty that there is no real America united by a Profit of Ideals, a profit that needs protecting and that trumps all other kinds of profits. Today, it is just a matter of who can be nimble enough to make the greatest financial profit in the shortest amount of time. It is everyone for himself - no more "us."

I have a good friend who did a good business for over 30 years. The guy actually enjoyed making payroll because to him, it was very fulfilling to take part in helping families realize their own dreams , buying homes, paying for education, marriages, funerals. He was an integral part in all of this vibrant living and he wanted to protect his position. It was more than just a matter of financial profit. He recognized and garnered other sorts of profit, based upon ideals he shared with his employees. When times got hard, he refused to let people go just because of the toughness. If they did their jobs well, the employees could be assured he would work with them so that they could keep their jobs and yet keep the company afloat.

But something began to change in the corporate culture over the years. The sense of unity evaporated before my friend was able to mentally adjust to the fact. As employees came into the firm, they began to act only for themselves, without taking interest in maintaining the de facto alliances that helped protect everyone's shared interests. An employee here and there would discover that their neighbors had such and such, and they began to demand the same things (or more) from my friend. That in itself was not the problem. The problem was that they did not wish to build toward these benefits as a team- to together earn them over time when resources better permitted them for everyone. They wanted them now. Some of them began to stab my friend in the back, to actually steal from him, essentially to war against him and even against each other. The company still exists. But it is nothing of the close family it was 30 years ago. My friend threw in the towel and sold it.

The new owner is this hard-nosed Canadian who knows what he is about (one of the few Canadians I have met that was worth half a damn). This guy is ripping up the company, rebuilding its infrastructure to extract quick profits. He is doing a fabulous job. I respect him a great deal. But something wonderful has died.

That is what has happened everywhere in America. hehe. Humpty Dumpty done broke up and no one is gonna put him back again. I'd rather pay my brother $10 to do a job that a foreigner could do for $3. But I am literally more comfortable paying the foreigner than in paying the leftist, and I save scads of money to boot! So when leftists whine about jobs leaving America, they whine without substance and without logic; because they, they in particular in their reckless selfishness, have utterly destroyed the reason why jobs should stay.
