Plus, much of the increase in debt in recent years has been for mortgages, and millions of Americans have low rates locked in for 30 years.

Let's not forget the consumer debt that's called by another name....the National Debt. Not looking forward to the inevitable rise in interest rates that affects paying the interest on the national debt, which will come in taxes payed by consumers.
