Gary- Its funny that you talk about honesty, since thats what I'm trying to encourage on this thread by getting a discussion about science going.

If its not already clear from my posts, then I will restate it for you Gary; "congratulations to ALL of you that road this wave!" I sincerely mean that.

For your own edification, Gary, any positive news about telomerase helps keep me in business- directly! The larger this field gets- the stronger the funding- the more secure my own position is.

What I'm worried about- and why I sound like an anchor trying to slow the boat, is because I'm interested in telomerase for the long run. It will benefit me more that you imagine if interest in this field remains strong for about 10- 20 more years. However, if it becomes a flash-in -the-pan field- then I have to find something else to work on.

In my opinion, nothing in science is more potentially harmful than making one's discoveries known through the front pages of the SF papers! This brings investors like yourself into the mix- all trying to make a quick killing (which is fine since I do it with the semi stocks), but then the expectations of the public are raised so high that they think "cloning the telomerase enzyme" is going to lead to an instant cure for aging.

Im more worried about what happens to interest in this enzyme when your pipe-dreams aren't realized in time for the next q. financial report.

Sorry to inform you Gary, but some scientist are out here making money at stocks - but some of us are concerned with the science also.

happy investing, louis mason
