Euro jumps above $1.2430 after weak Phila Fed

The euro rose against the dollar on Thursday after the release of a weaker-than-expected Philadelphia Federal Reserve business survey.

The euro rose 0.5 cents against the dollar above $1.2430 <EUR=> according to Reuters data.

The Philadelphia Fed business conditions index for March fell to 24.2 from 31.4 in February. Markets were expecting the index to show a reading of 30.0.
