They did not see it as an innovation when Davis came up with the idea. One characteristic of conservatives is that they have no long term memory. [Long term for them being more than one day.] What I can't understand is - since they're "illegal", why aren't they sent back to Mexico? On a more serious note. The illegals wouldn't come forward if that was the outcome. You've got a choice.... A. Don't give licenses to the illegals and they stay in the US and drive. B. Give licenses to the illegals [ignoring their illegal status] and they stay in the US and drive. So far it's pretty even. <s> But if you allow them to apply for a driver's licenses....they have to pass a vision test [some of them will need corrective lenses to pass]; they have to pass a written test; they have to pass a driving test; they have to have insurance at least for the time that they're getting a license; and they have to pay fees for the license. Is it a better choice to not allow them to apply for a driver's license? jttmab
