One key to all this is OIL. The Russians and Bushies made some big plans when Bush first came into power, but invading Iraq put a scotch on those probably. I still maintain the Iraq invasion was a Bushie power play to grab the oil and not much else. No one in the Bush administration has ever disproven this. Every move they've made there seems to bear this out. Excluding the UN helps Bushie oil companies control the oil. To them, that is worth 20-30 years of big profits. To the UN consumer we still get higher energy prices under Bush than anyone since Carter during the Arab embargo.
