Because it is the truth which gives you a background of how often many Jews who were both Temple priests and radical preachers , carried the name Jesus back in those times . In fact it was a very common name going back just so far. And with the Romans crucifying almost 500 Jews a day during some periods , many would have had the name Jesus .
And this backed up by so much scholarship....which should be taken into consideration in the context of the current concersation with Solon on what Paul knew and didn't know ...about someone who carried a name that was universally bestowed throughout the many tribes of Judea for anyone appearing to be a heroic savior of evry tribe clan or city or region appearing so often down thru the much doctored Hebrew history...since the time dating back to Moses & "Joshua" (Jesus of the Fish), which is also a mythology.
Perhaps rather than attack people greg , in the "true spirit of a morbid paranoid tunnel-vision~ Christ~Christianity" as it is want to be all these centuries ...try to start fresh . Make ammends for the calamity some of your ignorance has caused the world by the micro~misconception you are the only "righteous ones" on the planet , then go on to miss the enitire point of the exercise of life and existence . Or why have Christians so often killed other christians in this world too?
If you want morality and civility and peace to come to some fruition on our planet or in our civilization , feel free to take refuge in your own chosen image of that perfection , but realize that such a hero & his aspiration is not unique to the people's of the earth , if you chanced to ever look up from the well you are in , and look around you. Solon could very wqell be doing God's work as well, who are you to say ? God is very mysterious this way , as we all have our revelations and crosses to bear .
Always try to remember , that one of the great lessons in humility your friend Jesus ever learned , was from a poor woman of Canaan , which pleading for her sick child , was called a "dog" for her natural efforts to help her child . Only because of the tribe she belonged to.
You see even Jesus had some learning to do on the path ...like everyman must do.
