Certainly you want to be in trending stocks. even if you bottom fish you want a definite change in trend before buying. Buy high , sell higher. The RS of a stock should get 2X the Eps rank in your thinking. The type of moving average helps, one tied to Volatility, like a VAR or AMA help keep the whipsaws down.

Alot depends on what your mindset is. A 34/89 is different than a 5/13. A 5min chart looks different than a weekly. There are many choices facing someone. First you must know yourself.
