Hi Bux, I just happened to drop in and I see that you are still hurtin because of a lifetime membership that you paid for on IHUB and you are no longer a lifetime member there.
I do not know your age but perhaps as a keenager, I can help you with this.
Let us say that you purchased a lifetime membership with a very good private healthclub that you wanted to be a part of. The purpose of you going there is to have fun, get to know the people there and then have a nice time using their facilities. Great place to hang out and even learn. They have rules there at the club. If you do not follow the rules of the club and other members are disturbed or unhappy, the owner of the club has the right to reprimand you, ask you to follow the rules, give you a temporary ban from the club to think about what the owner expects from his club members.
Perhaps the member has a hard time following the rules of the club, and keeps trying to break some bad habits in behavior and each time the ban is lifted, that member goes back into the club, knowing he/her has some habits that need to be changed. Habits are hard to change but if one wants to truly be a member in good standing and be part of the club, the behavior and habits have to be changed. They say that if one works on trying to break old habits, it usually takes about 21 days of hard work to break the habit and with the help of others also, it can be changed tho.
Now if that member cannot/will not change, then I think that the owner of that private club has the right to ban the member from the club and not give a refund of the lifetime membership.
Why? You ask. Well, the owner had to give a lot of time to that member to help solve the problems that the member was causing. Time to talk and work out the members problem, plus the time that the owner had to spend talking to other members(who followed the rules) to reassure them that the member who is causing the distubance is being talked to, trying to rehabilitate him/her to become a better member etc etc. You do agree this is time consuming, don't you? Remember that the owner has to keep the lights working, welcome other members, keep the phones working, etc. etc. etc. Do things to keep revenue coming in to pay all the costs to run the club.
The owner of the club who enjoys his work day with the other members has a lot of work to also do behind the scenes and the disturbing member has stolen the owners time because of that member not following the rules and such.
If you add up all the hours that was spent on helping you to become a better member in the club, did it come to 40 hrs of the owner's time. If the owner spent 40 hrs with you and the other members trying to calm things down, at $15 an hour, that would come to $600 worth of work time. If the owner employed someone to handle the disturbance that would mean that that employer had to pay an employee $600 for something useless and other work in the club was not accomplished. How much did the club lifetime membership cost? What did that member contribute to the club? Was it to the owners' best interest to keep that member in the club knowing that it would cost the owner some more work time? Can you put yourself in the shoes of that private business owner?
Do you think that the member who disrupted the club should owe the club the money, probably not, as that is the cost of doing business.
No need to tell me your story as I read it here in the past but forgot it already.
You might want to go back to IHUB and contribute in a meaningful way there. Great group of people there to learn from and also there appears to be a lot of folks having fun there also.
Do you have to humble yourself and squirm and feel ashamed about have a desire to be there again. Of course not.
You just have to be a big enough person to take your pride and put it in the back seat because we all make mistakes. It is hard to admit them, but it is a good feeling, especially when the doors are open again for you to enter and you sincerely take responsibility for your actions and admit your short comings.
It is harder to do in real life than it is online.
Thanks for taking the time to read this as it is rather long.
Whatever choice you make, remember, it is your choice, but you could be missing something that might be rewarding to you.
Have a great day, and no need to respond as I will not respond as my time has to be spent elsewhere in my real world.
I sincerely wish you a great day. Please excuse any errors as I do not have time to edit. Thanx |
