epa mandates various cleaner gasoline. by area. if you are outside the area then you get a another gasoline mix. Now some states have gone and passed laws to adopt a gasoline blend that Ca. uses. Ma. and a few others.. this is a different mix than the epa foumular, the regular forumlar and i think costs about 10 or 15 cents more a gallon. Now in mid west you have blends with grain alcohol mandated by states to help farmers and uncle sam kicks in a 5 cents a gallon to help out. this is now another formular of gas.. and that's from the top of my head. Now try ship that down a pipeline and into storage tanks or barges, to a terminal that delivers to various blended areas. it is a mess and costly.
