Tin continued higher, extending a fund-driven rally on sound fundamentals. Tin prices have gained around $1,800 a tonne -- more than a quarter -- since the start of 2004, while world stocks continue to fall against firm demand, which could exceed supply by 20,000 tonnes this year, experts said. Three months futures (MSN3) were untraded in the second rings, last indicated at $7,945/950 and up at highs last seen in October 1989 when the peak was $8,520. The LME price closed Thursday's kerb at $7,790.

Northwest matches some Delta ticket price increases

NEW YORK, March 19 (Reuters) - Northwest Airlines (NasdaqNM:NWAC - News) on Friday said it selectively matched an $8 to $9 roundtrip domestic price increase imposed Thursday by Delta Airlines (NYSE:DAL - News). Minneapolis-based Northwest said that it has matched the increase in connecting markets where it competes with Delta on most discounted fares that are less than Northwest's regularly priced fares.
