Kerry voted against funding the items for which you are criticizing Bush.

Kerry is so far out there that if you look at the vote counts on his intelligence cuts and B-2 cuts that he was in the minority with 3/4 of the senators voting against him on these highly salient and very specific amendments.

And we are not talking about one or two amendments here, we are talking about a long history of cutting military and defense. He proposed to cut billions from intelligence after the first WTC bombing.

This reduction, as proposed in this amendment, would result in a termination of programs and activities that are essential to the security of this Nation.” (Sen. Daniel Inouye [D-HI], Congressional Record, 2/10/94, pp. S1330-S1332)

John F-bomb Kerry's own words are quite illuminating:

Running For Congress In 1972, Kerry Promised To Cut Defense Spending. “On what he’ll do if he’s elected to Congress, Kerry said he would bring a different kind of message to the president.’ He said he would vote against military appropriations.” (Candidate’s For Congress Capture Campus In Andover, Lawrence (MA) Eagle-Tribune, 4/21/72)

I'm an internationalist. I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations."

Kerry campaigned for congress on a platform of cutting defense spending and to almost eliminate CIA activity". notice he did not say eliminate activity in SE Asia, but all CIA activity.

In this, he has lived up to his word and has been quite consistent.
