Britenbush is one of my favorite places on the planet - I was just there a few weeks ago and as usual it helped me find proper perspective in the universe. It caters to a cross-section of playful hippies, earnest new-agers, and old growth nature lovers who love to bliss out in mellow surroundings. The hot springs are indeed wonderful, but the natural lithium springs sauna is truly amazing. Also, at this time of year there is decent X-C right down the road - but even better, Santaim pass has great skiing up near the Pacific Crest Trail, with magnificent views of Mt Washington and Three Finger Jack. Just go to Roy Benson Sno-park. Down hillers will like nearby Hoo-Doo, whose motto is "Steep, Cheap, and Deep"!
