Kerry's mistake is trying to tell the public that he does not recall the meetings...as if a plan to assasinate senators is one of those daily mundane things in life that we all could forget. And he now digs his hole deeper with an additional lie. That is wrong. Honesty would have been the best approach.

Think about it. If you attended a meeting where people were planning on killing senators of our country, is that something you would forget?

Mr. Nicosia generally declined to speculate on why Mr. Kerry had denied being present. However, the author did observe, “Especially if you’re running for president, you don’t want to be associated with a plot for assassinating people.”
